Zhenru Center Lobbies in Shanghai

The Shanghai Zhenru Urban Sub-Center project for the city's budding Putuo District will be completed in phases beginning in 2018 with the full phasing of the master plan-- which includes several towers, hotels, retail, residential, and public parks, to be fully realised by 2022. This mixed use development was designed by various consultants, plus KPF who designed the Architecture of the 19.7 hectare site's four main iconic towers. James JJ Acuna led a team of designers to create an interior concept and schematic package for Towers 1, 2, 3, & 14. The design, which is defined by vertical striations, was underpinned by a study on the contrast of light and shadow found within natural forests, specifically bamboo.
